The Los Angeles Media Art & Archives Network (LAMAA) is a local, interdisciplinary network dedicated to sharing knowledge, strategies, and resources for the care and preservation of digital and audiovisual media. Founded in 2025, LAMAA grew out of conversations among Los Angeles–based professionals who recognized a need for stronger collaboration across the region’s diverse digital heritage community.
Los Angeles’ deep history in film, television, music, and contemporary art has fostered an extraordinary range of expertise—from archivists and conservators to artists, technicians, curators, and educators. LAMAA brings these practitioners together to bridge silos, strengthen cross-sector dialogue, and ensure that critical technical and creative knowledge is shared, sustained, and passed on to future generations.
