An afternoon bringing together artists, archivists, technologists, and scholars to exchange tools, discuss challenges, and map the gaps that remain in caring for immersive works over time.

Join us for an exhibition tour and dialogue between students in UCLA’s Digital Media Arts MFA program and the Library and Information Science MA program. Together, students from each program will reflect on which technologies and materials are essential for the future preservation and display of artworks, and which elements can evolve over the artwork’s lifetime.

Uncommon igress presents works by Sadia Quddus, Xiner Lan, Chelly Jin & Sagan Yee, and Stamatis Hamouzas, showcasing diverse explorations in contemporary digital and new media art.

Our inaugural gathering will introduce LAMAA’s goals and vision, highlight upcoming initiatives, and provide an opportunity to connect with colleagues across disciplines. The event will feature a welcome and introduction to LAMAA, followed by lightning-style presentations from local professionals, and a keynote by Refik Anadol. Throughout the evening, there will be time for networking and discussion.
